Selena Gomez has delivered a stinging rebuke to social media trolls who targeted her appearance at a recent red carpet event. The Only Murders in the Building star, who has long been open about her struggles with Lupus and a 2017 kidney transplant, took to the comments of a now-deleted TikTok video to set the record straight on her health.

Responding to cruel remarks about her physique at the American French Film Festival, the 32-year-old revealed she is currently dealing with SIBO (Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth). According to Newsweek, Gomez told commenters: “This makes me sick. I have SIBO in my small intestine. It flares up.” The condition is known to cause significant bloating and abdominal discomfort, often referred to as 'SIBO belly'.

In a move that’s pure Selena, she made it clear she’s done apologizing for not meeting impossible beauty standards. According to the Mirror, the singer wrote: “I don’t care that I don’t look like a stick figure. I don’t have that body. End of story.” She punctuated the message by stating she is “not a victim” but “just human.”

The Rare Beauty founder has previously hit back at speculation regarding cosmetic surgery, recently admitting to having Botox but attributing most physical changes to the life-saving medication she takes for Lupus. It’s a timely reminder for the keyboard warriors to mind their own business—our Selena is looking gorgeous as ever while navigating a serious health journey.
