Lil Durk thrown into solitary confinement after ‘talking back’ to prison warden
The Chicago rapper has reportedly been sent to the SHU just days before a crucial bond hearing in his ongoing racketeering case.

Lil Durk has reportedly been moved to solitary confinement at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Los Angeles after a run-in with prison staff. The rapper, whose real name is Durk Banks, was allegedly placed in the Special Housing Unit (SHU) on Friday following a series of cell searches, according to TMZ.
Sources claim the trouble started when the 'All My Life' hitmaker questioned a deputy warden about why his cell was being "constantly searched." While guards have reportedly failed to find any contraband since his murder-for-hire acquittal in September, the rapper was allegedly reprimanded for "talking back" and sent straight to the SHU, according to HotNewHipHop.
The timing couldn't be worse for the drill star, as he is due in court for a bond hearing on November 4. His legal team has been fighting for his release ahead of a second trial for racketeering and firearms charges, which was recently pushed back to August 2027.
The Bureau of Prisons has refused to comment on the specifics of the move, telling reporters they do not discuss "housing assignments or potential disciplinary infractions" for safety and privacy reasons. Durk remains in federal custody despite being found not guilty on five counts related to a murder-for-hire plot earlier this year.
